First day of the week, used eight times, establishes the seventh day as the sabbath

Summary:

Sunday is not used in the Holy Bible.
In the Bible each day is identified by its number.
Sunday is referred to as the first day of the week.

There are eight verses in the Holy Bible that refer to the first day of the week, Sunday.
All eight of these verses confirm the seventh day sabbath as the day of rest.

First five verses show the women arrived at the tomb of Jesus early on the first day of the week.
Matthew 28:1; Mark 16:2; Mark 16:9; Luke 24:1; John 20:1
The women did not complete their work on the sixth day because of the coming seventh day sabbath.
The women rested on the seventh day as commanded.
The women arrived at the tomb early on the first day to finish their burial preparation work.
These first five verses show the seventh day sabbath was kept by the women.

Sixth verse, John 20:19, is the first appearance of the resurrected Jesus to the disciples.
This verse comfirms that Jesus kept the seventh day sabbath by resting in his tomb.
Jesus went back to his work on the first day of the week.

Seventh verse, Acts 20:7, is Paul preaching all day on the seventh day sabbath.
When the sun went down, it became the first day of the week and it was too dark for travel.
The disciples stayed where they were and they ate an evening meal together.
Paul continued to preach until midnight, planning to leave on a trip at daylight on the first day.
Paul would not have left on a long trip if the first day was the new sabbath day of rest.
This verse shows the keeping of the seventh day as the sabbath of the Lord.

Eighth verse, 1 Corinthians 16:2, is telling the people that when they go back to work on the first day of the week, to lay aside their tithe for the following seventh day sabbath.
This verse is also confirming the gathering of the people on the seventh day sabbath.

Genesis 2:1-3 KJV
[1] Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. [2] And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. [3] And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

Exodus 20:8-11 KJV
[8] Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. [9] Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: [10] But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: [11] For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Deuteronomy 5:12-15 KJV
[12] Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee. [13] Six days thou shalt labour, and do all thy work: [14] But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou. [15] And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the Lord thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the Lord thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day.

Commentary

The commandment to keep the seventh day sabbath, Saturday, is from God

The commandment to keep the first day of the week sabbath, Sunday, is from man, and was not established until about 300 years after Jesus.

Romans 6:16 KJV
[16] Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

We need to be servants obeying God and not obeying man.
